Box Score The Wright State women's soccer team posted a 1-0 victory over Butler on Friday evening at Alumni Field to open the Horizon League portion of their schedule. A first-half marker was all WSU needed as the defense held BU to only three shots.
At the 26:01 mark in the first half, the Green and Gold struck to take the lead when Amber Kasmer netted her fourth goal of the season. Kasmer took a long lead pass from Jess Rooma and beat the keeper one-on-one from eight yards out. It was the second assist of the year for Rooma.
The Raiders would hold the Bulldogs offense at bay for the remainder of the match and surrender only one shot on-goal. WSU outshot Butler 10-3, forced the BU keeper to make five saves and the two teams each took two corner kicks.
Wright State (8-3, 1-0 Horizon) returns to action on Sunday, October 7, when the Raiders host Cleveland State at noon.
