
Baseball Splits Twinbill with Milwaukee

The Wright State baseball team outhit Milwaukee 30-17 in two games on Friday evening at Nischwitz Stadium, but dropped game one 13-6 before rebounding with a 12-3 victory.
In game one, Garret Holleran got the start for WSU and threw 6.1 innings and allowed six runs, only three earned, on seven hits.
The Panthers scored a pair of runs in the first inning, both unearned, and added a run in the fifth inning to push their lead to 3-0.
The Raiders would respond with three runs in their half of the fifth inning with three runs, with RBI's coming from Dan Biedenharn and Jeremy Hamilton.
The Panthers took the lead for good with a run in the sixth inning and added six runs in seventh, a run in the eighth and two runs in the ninth.
In game one, five different Raiders drove in RBI's and Justin Parker went three-for-five at the plate. Biedenharn and Hamilton each collected two hits in the game and Oeder scored twice for the Green and Gold.
In game two, the Green and Gold got their offense started early with five runs in the second inning. In the inning, the first five batters reached base for WSU with the first run coming on a walk to John Kopilchack. Oeder followed that with a two-RBI double, Biedenharn added a sacrifice fly and Hamilton an RBI ground out to cap the scoring and give WSU a 5-0 lead.
The Raiders added two runs in the third inning, while UWM got on the board in the fourth with a single run off of WSU starter Erich Schanz.
Hamilton drove in another RBI with a double and Casey McGrew's sacrifice fly pushed the Wright State lead to 9-1 after four inning of play.
Hamilton would provide the rest of the Raiders offense on the evening, with an RBI double in the sixth and a two-RBI double in the seventh to extend the lead to 12-1.
On the game, Hamilton was three-for-five, all of his hits doubles, and drove in five RBI's. Oeder plated a pair of runs with a double and scored twice, while Biedenharn and Aaron Fields each chipped in two hits.
Schanz threw eight solid innings for the Raiders, allowing only three hits, issuing two walks and striking out four batters. The senior allowed only one run to improve to 2-3 overall this season.
The Green and Gold are now 11-10 overall in 2007 and sit at 5-3 in the Horizon League. Wright State and Milwaukee will tangle in a single game on Saturday, March 31, with first pitch scheduled for noon at Nischwitz Stadium.
