Box Score The Wright State baseball team smacked twelve extra base hits and Jeremy Hamilton hit for the cycle in a 12-9 extra inning victory over Toledo on Tuesday evening. The Raiders committed five errors and allowed seven unearned runs in the contest, but the offense outhit the Rockets 19-6 at Scott Park.
Jeremy Hamilton smacked a first inning home run to get the scoring started for WSU. The junior gave WSU a 1-0 before Toledo would tally the next six runs to stake to a 6-1 lead.
Trailing 6-1 heading into the fourth inning the Green and Gold would tally five runs, highlighted by a Casey McGrew two-run homer, to knot the score at 6-6.
Toledo would add a pair of runs in their half of the fourth, before WSU would tie the score again on a John Kopilchack two-run home run.
The two teams would trade runs in the seventh inning and would remain tied at 9-9 as Greg Robinson would toss perfect baseball on the mound for WSU.
Robinson would retire the only batter he faced in the eighth, while tossing a perfect ninth and tenth inning.
In the 11th inning, the Raiders would get things started with a leadoff walk to Ross Vagedes. Gerald Ogrinc would lay down a sacrifice bunt and a throwing error by the pitcher would allow Vagedes to score. With Ogrinc on third, Kopilchack would strike again with his second home run of the game to left center field.
With a 12-9 lead, Robinson tossed a perfect 11th inning to pick up his third victory of the season. Robinson struck out four in three and one-third innings of work to claim the victory.
In the contest, Rylan Ostrosky allowed six runs, only two earned, in the start and Jordan Wolfe allowed a pair of unearned runs in a relief appearance.
At the plate, Hamilton became the first player to hit for the cycle since Bryan Vickers accomplished the feat in 2004. Hamilton smacked a home run, tripled, doubled and singled - in that order - while posting a pair of RBI's. Kopilchack hit his eighth and ninth home runs on the season and his five RBI's give him 32 overall in 2008.
Every player to enter the contest collected a hit with Hamilton, Kopilchack, Vagedes and Aaron Fields each collecting multihit games.
The Green and Gold improve to 19-16 overall on the season and have evened their road record at 10-10 on the season. The next game for Wright State will be on Friday, April 25, against Milwaukee starting at 6:30 at Nischwitz Stadium.
