Box Score Wright State rallied from a 3-1 deficit in the final 17 minutes of regulation to force overtime, only to see Canisius score the game-winner with 1:39 remaining in the contest as the Golden Griffins pulled out a 4-3 double overtime win over the Raiders in women's soccer action Friday night in Buffalo.
Canisius opened the scoring with a goal at the 5:50 mark of the first half on a penalty kick, only to see WSU answer six minutes later as senior Amber Kasmer scored her third goal of the season, assisted by Bekah Bonny.
The Golden Griffins, though, looked to be in control as they tallied a pair of goals within a six-minute span in the second half, going up 3-1 with just over 25 minutes remaining in regulation.
Senior Cassie Gross, however, started the Raiders on their comeback with the first goal of her collegiate career at the 73:18 mark. Junior Brittany Persaud then forced overtime in dramatic fashion with her third goal of the season, a goal that came with just 45 seconds to play in regulation on an assist by Kasmer.
It appeared the match would end in a tie until Canisius (2-3) scored the game-winner with 1:39 to play.
