Box Score The Wright State women's soccer team scored four times in each half in rolling to an 8-1 decision over Canisius Sunday afternoon at the AIA Complex in Xenia.
The Raiders scored quickly in their season opener Friday at Ohio and this match was no different as Brittany Persaud tallied her first goal of the season off a rebound just 2:43 in. WSU added three more goals in the half in Sarah Gross (10:16), Jen Agueci (18:46) and Katie Broerman (33:54). Adrianna Guerrero provided the assist on the Agueci goal.
Agueci scored her second goal of the day at the 58:43 mark of the second half and goals by Liz Soto (61:09), Emilie Fillion (70:04) and Tiffany Wehmeyer (78:49) rounded out the WSU scoring. Persaud provided the assist on Soto's goal while Broerman did the same for Fillion.
Goalkeeper Brooke McCurdy recorded three saves and allowed just a penalty kick goal while Anna Nock played the final 17 minutes.
For the match, the Raiders outshot Canisius 20-7. It was the most goals scored in a game by WSU since winning 9-0 at Morehead State on September 2, 2001.
Wright State (2-0) hosts Eastern Kentucky on Friday, August 26, at 5:00 at the AIA Complex. It will be the first match of a doubleheader as the Raider men host Marshall at approximately 7:30.
