The Wright State baseball team fell behind #16 Kentucky early and could not recover as the Wildcats posted a 9-1 win over the Raiders Tuesday afternoon at Cliff Hagen Field in Lexington.
Kentucky (17-0), the only undefeated team remaining in Division I this season, sored all of its runs over the first four innings. WSU tallied its lone run in the sixth as freshman pinch-hitter Cody Simon hit his first collegiate home run to left.
Wright State (6-8) begins Horizon League play this weekend as the Raiders host UIC in a battle of the top two teams in the preseason poll, the Raiders picked first and the Flames second. The three-game series at Nischwitz Stadium begins with a single game Friday at 6:30.
