Baseball Falls at Toledo

Box Score

A six-run fifth proved to be the difference as the Wright State baseball team dropped a 10-4 decision at Toledo Tuesday afternoon.

It was all Toledo in the early going as the Rockets scored three in the third, one in the fourth and then broke the game open with six in the fifth to build a 10-0 advantage.

The Raiders broke through in the sixth on a two-run double by Andrew McCafferty and a RBI single from Jason DeFevers.  WSU added a run in the eighth as Cody Simon walked, McCafferty doubled down the left field line and DeFevers followed with a ground out to plate Simon.

McCafferty finished with three hits and two RBI to pace the Raider offense while Michael Timm had two hits, DeFevers two RBI and Simon two runs scored.

Wright State (14-12) hits the road again on Wednesday, this time traveling south on I-75 to face Xavier in another 3:00 contest.
