Baseball Drops Series Finale With Missouri State

Box Score

The Wright State baseball team fell just short in its series finale Saturday with Missouri State, dropping a 3-2 decision to the Bears in Emerson, Georgia.

WSU scored a run in the second as Michael Timm led off with a double down the left field line and scored on a double to left center off the bat of Mark Fowler.

Missouri State, however, tied it with a run in the fifth and the Bears went up 3-1 with single runs in the seventh and eighth.

The Raiders took advantage of three Missouri State errors in scoring a run in the bottom of the ninth to make it 3-2, but could not push across the tying run.

Senior Luke Mamer had a strong first start of the season, allowing just one run in 5.1 innings with a walk and three strikeouts.

Wright State (6-6) is scheduled to face Xavier twice in midweek action this week, hosting the Musketeers on Tuesday before traveling to Cincinnati on Wednesday.  Check back with wsuraiders. com for updates.
