A walk-off two-run home run by Ryan Fucci in the 10th inning lifted the Wright State baseball team to a dramatic 6-4 win over UIC Saturday at Nischwitz Stadium.

WSU jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead with a pair of runs in the first.  Matt Morrow reached on an error with one out and after Mitch Roman walked, Michael Timm delivered a two-out double to left center to drive in both runners.

The Flames went in front 3-2 with three runs in the fourth, but that lead was short-lived as the Raiders answered with two runs in their half of the inning.  Fucci started the rally by reaching on an infield hit with two out and after stealing second, scored as John Brodner doubled to left center.  Brodner then came in on an Andrew McCafferty hit to right.

UIC, though, tied the game in the seventh and posed a threat to go in front in the eighth with two runners on, but Andrew Elliott pitched out of the jam by striking out the final two batters.  Wright State had a runner on third in the ninth, but could not push across a run.

Fucci, however, would provide the game-winner in the 10th for the Raiders.  A Timm single to left with one out kept the inning alive for the junior right fielder, who connected on the first pitch he saw for a two-run shot over the left field wall, his 10th home run of the season.

Elliott (5-2) earned the win with 2.2 innings of scoreless relief, allowing just one hit and a walk while striking out three.  Offensively, Timm had three hits and two RBI while Fucci and Mark Fowler each had two hits.

Wright State (31-13, 15-7 Horizon) and UIC (21-19-1, 16-7 Horizon) will play the rubber game of the series Sunday at 1:00.
