Box Score The Wright State men's basketball team won its 10th straight home game Saturday night, shooting 59 percent in the first half in rolling to a 79-60 Horizon League win over Green Bay.
The Raiders broke a 5-5 deadlock with eight straight points abd later went up 22-8 at the 11:55 mark following back-to-back layups by Biggie Minnis. The advantage grew to 43-22 on a Justin Mitchell jumper in the final minute before Green Bay scored the final four points of the period.
WSU hit 20 of 34 shots in the opening 20 minutes for 59 percent while the Phoenix shot just 33 percent.
Green Bay cut the deficit to 61-51 on a Khalil Small three with 7:01 to play, only to see Wright State answer with a 16-6 run over the next 3:35, a run that featured four three-pointers by Grant Benzinger.
The Raiders shot 52 percent for the contest, including nine of 24 from behind the arc, while the Phoenix shot 38 percent overall and was five of 20 from three-point range. WSU led 40-28 in points in the paint and 25-13 in points off of turnovers.
Minnis led a balanced attack with 13 points off the bench for the Raiders and added seven rebounds while Benzinger had 12 and Michael Karena, Mark Hughes and Mitchell 10 each. In all, seven WSU players had seven or more points.
Carrington Love paced Green Bay (14-10, 6-5 Horizon) with 17 points while Kenneth Lowe had 10.
Wright State (15-10, 9-3 Horizon) heads to the Windy City on Thursday, February 11, for an 8:00 Eastern matchup at UIC.
