The Wright State baseball team led 1-0 heading into the bottom of the fifth, only to see #4 Louisville score five times in that frame and two in both the sixth and seventh en route to a 9-1 decision Wednesday afternoon at Jim Patterson Stadium.
WSU opened the scoring with a two-out run in the first as Mitch Roman singled to center, stole second and came in on a Ryan Fucci hit to left.
It stayed that way until the Cardinals tallied five runs in the bottom of the fifth and added two more in both the sixth and seventh innings.
Roman and Fucci each had two hits for Wright State (10-7), who opens Horizon League play this weekend by hosting Youngstown State in a three-game series at Nischwitz Stadium, starting with a single game Friday at 6:30.
