Baseball Drops Tough 2-0 Decision to Milwaukee

A two-run home run by Cole Heili in the seventh proved to be all of the offense for the day as Milwaukee defeated the Wright State baseball team 2-0 Saturday afternoon at Kapco Park in Mequon, Wisconsin.
Starting pitchers Jesse Scholtens of WSU and Brian Keller of UWM hooked up into a scoreless pitcher's duel for the first six innings, Scholtens limiting the Panthers to three hits while striking out six while Keller held the Raiders to three hits while fanning seven.
Milwaukee, however, broke through in the seventh as Luke Meeteer led off with a double down the left field line and scored two outs later as Heili drove the first pitch he saw over the fence in left center for his fourth home run of the season.
Keller blanked Wright State the rest of the way, finishing with nine strikeouts while Scholtens fanned seven in 7.1 innings of work. E.J. Trapino came in relief for Scholten and struck out both batters he faced.
Wright State (19-10, 7-3 Horizon) and Milwaukee (12-13, 5-1 Horizon) wrap up the series with a doubleheader Sunday at 1:00 Eastern.
