Baseball Rolls to 14-4 Win Over Dayton

The rain did not slow the Wright State offense Tuesday night as the Raiders rolloed to a 14-4 win over Dayton at Nischwitz Stadium.
After jumping out to a 2-0 lead in the first, WSU added three more in the second, including a John Brodner RBI double and a Matt Morrow run-scoring bunt single. The margin grew to 7-2 in the third as Gabe Snyder singled in a run and Brodner walked with the bases loaded.
Daniel Arthur extended the margin to 11-3 in the fifth as he connected on a 2-0 pitch for a grand slam to left, his fifth home run of the season. Wright State rounded out its scoring with three in the seventh as Arthur doubled in a run and Jason DeFevers later smacked a solo home run to left, his third of the year.
Six Raider pitchers combined to allow just one earned run on the night, striking out five in the process.
Offensively, Arthur finished with two hits, five RBI and three run scored while Ryan Fucci had two hits, Brodner two RBI, Zach Weatherford three runs scored and Sean Murphy two runs scored.
Wright State (39-14) closes out the regular season this weekend with a three-game Horizon League series at UIC, starting with a single game on Thursday at 7:00 Eastern.
