Baseball Falls 11-1 at UIC

A nine-run seventh allowed UIC to break open a 2-1 lead as the Flames went on to an 11-1 win over the Wright State baseball team Friday afternoon in Chicago.
The Raiders opened the scoring with a run in the third without the benefit of a hit. Matt Morrow led off with a walk and went to third as Mitch Roman reached on an error. One out later, Ryan Fucci drove in Morrow with a sacrifice fly to right.
UIC, though, answered back with two runs in its half of the third, a rally that started after the first two batters were retired, and the Flames extended the margin with the nine-run seventh.
Roman recorded WSU's first hit of the game with a single up the middle to start the eighth and John Brodner and JD Orr had hits in the ninth.
Wright State (40-15, 22-6 Horizon) and UIC (24-27, 15-11 Horizon) close out the series and the regular season Saturday with a 1:00 Eastern contest.
