Women's Basketball Defeats Tennessee Tech

WSU now 5-2 with 82-59 Win

The Wright State women's basketball team came back home for an 82-59 win over Tennessee Tech Friday night at the WSU Nutter Center. 
 
Game Breakdown 
1st Quarter (24-14)
 
*Mackenzie Taylor got the scoring going early with a three pointer at 9:24. 
*An 8-0 run late in the quarter allowed WSU to increase its lead to 20-12. 
*Emily Vogelpohl and Chelsea Welch led the Raiders with six points each as Mackenzie Taylor had five points. 
*WSU shot 73% from the field in the opening 10 minutes. 
 
2nd Quarter (41-35) 
*The Eagles got back into the game and tied the score at 30 each at 4:10. 
*The Raiders finished the half with a 9-3 run. 
*Tennessee Tech outscored the Raiders 21-17 in the second period. 
*Taylor now leads WSU with nine points as Welch and Vogelpohl each have eight. 
*Kehsa Brady of TTU leads all scorers with 14 points. 
*Wright State has forced 11 turnovers off seven steals 
 
3rd Quarter (63-52) 
*The Raiders lead increased to 58-46 at the media timeout at 3:31. 
*Wright State outscored the Eagles 22-17. 
*Taylor had 12 for the game while Welch and Symone Simmons each had 10 points. Vogelpohl and Breaunna Lloyd each had eight points. 
 
4th Quarter (82-59) 
*The Raiders put the game away, outscoring the Eagles 19-7. 
*Five Raiders score in double figures: Taylor, Welch and Simmons 14 each, Lloyd 11 off the bench and Vogelpohl 10 points. 
*Simmons led the way with nine rebounds as Lexi Smith added eight. 
*Welch had eight assists.

*WSU shot 48.5% for the game, including 28.6% in the second quarter. 
*54 Raider points came in the paint; 21 points off the bench
