Women's Basketball Travels to Kent State

The Wright State women's basketball team will hit the road to play at Kent State Thursday at 7 pm. The game will be shown on ESPN3.
Wright State
The Raiders, 6-2, are coming off an 84-59 win against Chicago State Sunday. It was their third straight win. The scoring has been spread out recently with Chelsea Welch continuing to lead the team with a 20.3 points per game average. Mackenzie Taylor averages 13.1 points while Emily Vogelpohl and Symone Simmons both average just under 11.0 points. The fifth starter Lexi Smith leads the team in rebounding at 8.3 per game.Â
Kent State
The Golden Flashes, 6-3, own wins over Horizon League teams Youngstown State, Northern Kentucky and Detroit Mercy. Jordan Korinek leads KSU with an average of 19.6 points per game while McKenna Stephens sits at 10.3 points and 6.2 rebounds. Tuesday night, Kent State took Eastern Kentucky into overtime for the 65-57 win. Naddiyah Cross had 19 points and Marissa Barber-Smith grabbed 15 rebounds. Kent State leads the overall series 3-1.
