@WSUWBasketball's Winning Streak Snapped in Overtime Tuesday

The Raiders' seven game win streak comes to an end in Charlotte. Playing in front of a record crowd at Halton Arena, more than 8,000 fans were on hand to see the game between Wright State and Charlotte. After falling behind to the 49ers early in the game the Raiders would battle back over the next thirty-five quarters to force overtime.
Four Raiders scored in double-digits with Michal Miller leading the offense with 25 points, 18 of those coming from deep.
 
1st Quarter
The Raiders fell behind early by a score of 8-0 before Imani Partlow finally put them on the board with a layup and an ensuing free throw. Partlow sparked a comeback for the Raiders and went on to outscore the 49ers for the remainder of the quarter 18-13. Despite the Raiders' best efforts, Charlotte would hold onto the lead 21-18. The Raiders bench would contribute 12 points in the 1st quarter.
 
2nd Quarter
Wright State would outscore the 49ers in the quarter 14-8 and would come away with the lead 32-29. A strong defense allowed the Raiders to comeback, led by strong play in the paint. Tyler Frierson and Symone Simmons would add a combined seven points and also come away with a combined seven rebounds.
 
3rd Quarter
In just over two minutes of action Imani Partlow would add six points to keep the Raiders' just ahead of the 49ers. Although they had a strong effort in the 49ers would go on to hit from deep to tie the Raiders with 2:09 remaining. After draw a foul, Chartlotte would convert their free throws to extend their lead to four points. Symone Simmons would add another 5 points the quarter including a layup with time expiring to put the Raiders just two points shy of the 49ers.
 
4th Quarter
Michal Miller would take over the quarter and lead the effort for the Raiders. Miller would hit on three of her four shots from behind the arc. After drawing a foul on another three point attempt, Miller would sink all of her free throws. With one second remaining on the clock, Angel Baker was fouled by Lauren Harley on a three point attempt. Baker would convert all three of her free throws to tie the score at 73-73.
 
Overtime
With only 2.9 left on the clock and coming out of a timeout, Symone Simmons would hit a jumper to tie the game at 85-85. Charlotte would have a chance at the end with the ball out of bounds on the Raiders' end. 49ers' Laia Raventos hit her shot from the corner and with time expiring to put the Raiders' win streak to an end.

Next Up
The Raiders travel to Indianapolis to take on the 6-4 IUPUI Jaguars on Friday, December 28th. Tip-off is slated for 7:00pm.
