Manhattan, N.Y. - The Raiders women's basketball team completed play in the two-day tournament in Manhattan on Sunday, defeating the host Manhattan Jaspers handily and capturing the tournament title, their second in two attempts this season after winning the Challenge in Music City two weekends ago in Nashville.Â
Behind the strength of 16 points in Sunday's contest,
Michal Miller was named the Most Valuable Player for the tournament, and
Mackenzie Taylor was also named to the All-Tournament team. In Sunday's contest,
Mackenzie Taylor also joined teammate
Emily Vogelpohl as the 21st member of the 1,000 point club for the Wright State women's basketball team with a second-half three-pointer, three of her ten points on the game.
Now riding a six-game winning streak, the Raiders will return home to play their second home game in the month of December when Kentucky State travels to the Nutter Center on December 13. Thursday's contest is slated for an 11:00 a.m. tip-off, part of the annual Education Day celebration.
