Baseball Splits with Oakland

The Wright State split Horizon League games against Oakland Sunday afternoon, falling 6-5 in the first and winning 8-2 in the second game.

In game one, the Raiders tied the game at two each in the fourth inning as the score bounced back and forth until the Grizzlies took the lead 6-5 in the top of ninth.  Oakland had seven hits, including a triple and two doubles while the Raiders received eight hits with one double from Alex Alders, who finished with an RBI and a run scored.

Gabe Snyder collected two hits as Seth Gray had two runs on two walks and a hit.  Zane Collins started on the mound for WSU, striking out seven while giving up two earned runs over seven innings.  Derrick Hendrixson finished the game, giving up three earned runs over two innings for the loss.

In game, the Raiders jumped to a 3-0 after the first inning to bounce back as Matt Morrow, Peyton Burdick, JD Orr and Hamilton each had two hits as Orr had two RBI, a triple and a run.  Bentley Jones picked up the other Raider hit.  Quincy Hamilton homered in the third. 

On the mound, Daniel Kreuzer got the start and went 6.1 innings, giving up one earned run on five hits with six strikeouts. 

WSU is now 11-7 and 2-1 while the Grizzlies go to 3-14 and 1-2.
