Baseball Plays at Xavier; Dayton Cancelled

The Wright State baseball team will play two mid-week non-conference games this week as they travel to Xavier Tuesday. The Raiders were schedule to play at Dayton Wednesday but it was cancelled.
The Raiders, 13-8 and 4-2, won two of three last weekend against Milwaukee at home. The Raiders swept the Friday doubleheader 6-5 and 10-2 before falling to the Panthers 3-2 on Sunday.
Over the three games, Gabe Snyder had a slugging percentage of 1.275 as he hit three homeruns and added a double in 11 at bats. He also drove in six run and collected five runs scored as well. He is hitting .313 on the season while leading the team with 23 RBI and five homerun. Ryan Weiss leads the starter with a 4-0 record after picking up the win Friday afternoon against the Panthers. He has an overall ERA of 3.43 with 30 strikeouts over 39.1 innings.
The Raiders lead the Horizon League in most offensive categories, including batting average (.285), runs scored (143) and hits (206). WSU pitching has given up the fewest runs allowed (101) and the fewest walks allowed (72). Peyton Burdick leads the league with 29 hits as Gabe Snyder and Seth Gray and Burdick are 1-2-3 in RBI with 23, 18 and 17.
XAVIER
Xavier is 7-15 overall and have dropped four straight after winning three over Miami. The Musketeers were picked to finish second in the Big East this year after advancing to the 2017 NCAA Tournament where they went 2-2. Natale Monastra leads XU with a .327 batting average while Joe Gellenbeck is hitting .320. Chris Givin leads the team with 12 RBI. Damien Richard has five starts on the mound with an ERA of 3.33 over 27 innings. Xavier will travel for games in Dallas this weekend.

The Raiders will travel to Northern Kentucky for a doubleheader Friday and a single-game Saturday. Both days start at 1 pm.
