In their first home match of the season the Wright State women's tennis team handily beat the Chicago State Cougars by a team score of 7-0 on Friday night. With the win the Raiders start 1-0 on the season.

The Doubles teams went a combined 3-0 with wins coming from the pairings of Madison Riley and Haily Morgan, Luisa Pelayo and Grace Whitney, and Andreea Craciun and Jillian Milano. Madison and Morgan downed Goncharova and Borodina by a score of 6-2, Pelayo and Whitney won against Pukheva and Drazic by a score of 6-1, and Craciun and Milano beat Dejanovic and Shepard 7-5 after a back and forth match. In exhibition play the duo of Anna Marie Reynolds and Anna Jones pushed Morgoshia and Kuzminskaya to the limit but fell by a score of 7-5.

The team went perfect in singles play as well with wins coming from Haily Morgan, Luisa Pelayo, Andreea Craciun, Madison Riley, Jillian Milano, and Grace Whitney. In singles exhibition, Anna Jones won in three sets and Anna Reynolds lost in three sets after winning the first and pushing the third set the distance.
Raider Head Coach Eric Burns had this to say about the match, "I'm really proud of the way we competed today. Chicago State is an excellent team and really pushed us, but we were really tough mentally on the big points. This was a great way to start our season".
