DULUTH, GA – The Wright State golf team tallied its third straight team title at the Georgia State Invitational, finishing 10 strokes ahead of the field behind a trio of top 15 finishes individually.
The Raiders have now captured the team titles at the Earl Yestingmeier Invitational, Valpo Fall Invitational and this week down in Georgia after opening the fall with a second-place team finish at the Joe Feaganes Marshall Invitational.
In Georgia, Wright State was tied for first as a team after the opening 18 holes but ended day one a shot back in second place before firing a 275 team score on Tuesday to leapfrog Lafayette College to take the lead and the eventual 10-shot margin.
On the individual side,
Tyler Goecke finished tied for third with a 208 three-round total thanks to his final round 66 to jump up the leaderboard, while
Bryce Haney ended the tournament at 213 in a tie for 10th.
Mikkel Mathiesen carded an opening round 67 on the way to his 214 total and tie for 12th, followed by
Cole Corder two shots back in a tie for 22nd and
Davis Root at a 220 total (t41).
The Raiders end the fall back at home, playing in the Flyer Invitational at NCR Country Club next Monday and Tuesday in Kettering, OH.
