The Wright State golf team is set to host the Wright State Invitational on Sunday and Monday, welcoming 16 additional teams to Heatherwoode Golf Club.
Â
The field will play 36 holes on Sunday and then a final 18 holes on Monday at the Par-71, 6,754-yard course.
Â
Live scoring is available online through GolfStat. The Raiders will play as a group and will tee off from the 10th hole at 8:30 a.m. in the opening round on Sunday morning.
Â
Spectators are welcome on the course but must practice social distancing. Masks are required for entry into the clubhouse.
Â
In addition to the host Raiders, the field also includes: Butler, Cleveland State, Detroit Mercy, Eastern Illinois, Green Bay, IUPUI, Loyola Chicago, Marshall, Morehead State, Northern Kentucky, Ohio, Purdue Fort Wayne, Robert Morris, St. Francis, Valparaiso and Youngstown State.
Â
The tournament will be a preview of sorts for Wright State, who will face off against all eight of their Horizon League foes for the first time this season ahead of the Horizon League Championship, which will be played April 25-27 in West Lafayette, Indiana.
Â
The Raiders are coming off of a third-place team finish at the Flyer Invitational over at NCR Country Club last week, finishing even overall as a team, while a pair of players found the top 10 individually. Austin Schoonmaker finished tied for fourth at three-under overall for the tournament. Bryce Haney was also inside the top 10, finishing at even par overall in a tie for eighth.
Â
Last season's Wright State Invitational was canceled due to the pandemic, with Wittenberg and the Raiders finishing third as a team in the 2019 edition of the tournament.
