Golf looks to defend title at Georgia State Invitational

DAYTON – The Wright State golf team heads south as it continues fall action at the Georgia State Invitational on Monday and Tuesday in metro Atlanta.
 
The Raiders, who won the fall-opening Earl Yestingmeier Invitational and were second in the Golfweek Fall Challenge, enter the tournament as the defending champions in Georgia after finishing 10 strokes ahead of the field with a trio of top 15 finishes individually last October.

The 54-hole event is being played at one of the premier courses in metro Atlanta, Berkeley Hills Country Club in Duluth, which will play as a par 72, 6,706-yard course for the tournament.
 
Wright State and the rest of the field will play 36 holes on Monday and the final round Tuesday. Teams will utilize a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m., on Monday, followed by tee times off Holes Nos. 1 & 10 on Tuesday.
 
In addition to the Raiders, the tournament also features host Georgia State, Appalachian State, Austin Peay, Central Michigan, Florida A&M, Jacksonville State, James Madison, Lipscomb, Marshall, Nicholls State, North Alabama, Old Dominion, Southern Illinois, Tennessee Tech and Valdosta State.
 
Following this week's action in Georgia, the Raiders will wrap up the fall with two final tournaments closer to home, first playing in the Xavier Invitational October 10 and 11 at TPC River's Bend in Maineville, Ohio before the Dayton Flyer Invitational on October 17 and 18 and NCR Country Club.
