
Raiders set for Horizon League Indoor Championship

The two-day conference meet, hosted by Youngstown State, will commence on Saturday at 9 a.m. with the pentathlon competition. Field events will start at noon, followed by running events at 2:30 p.m.Â
Action will resume on Sunday at 9 a.m. with heptathlon events. Field events will get going at 9:15 a.m., leading to running events at 1 p.m. The women's 4x400 meter relay will be the final event of the indoor championship.Â
Both days will air on ESPN+. Live results will also be available for the entirety of the meet. Tickets will be available at the main entrance of the event. Day passes are $10, while Horizon League institution students get in for free.Â

CHAMPIONSHIP REWIND
A season ago, Wright State placed eighth at conferences with 30 points. Shelby Nolan highlighted the championship meet by setting a school record in the 3000-meter run with a time of 9:39.45. The winning mark was the second-fastest time in HL Indoor Championship history. The Whitehouse, Ohio native also captured first in the mile run at 4:58.49.Â
The distance medley relay team of Emma Shigley, Alycea Ruhlen, Lauren Shuman, and Nolan recorded a school-record time of 12:18.04, giving the Raiders their first DMR championship in program history.

LAST TIME OUT
WSU tallied four top-five finishes at the Wittenberg Invitational last Saturday.Â
>> The Raiders were at their best in the 800-meter run with a pair of top-five finishes. Nolan placed third with a time of 2:15.73, while Alicia Neumeier was fifth at 2:18.19. Both runners moved into the Raider top-10 list, with Nolan in third and Neumeier in fifth.Â
>> Shigley's impressive indoor season continued as she finished fourth in the mile run with a time of 5:05.33. Kaitlyn Miller was close behind Shigley in ninth at 5:17.18. Nataly Dunes Diaz (5:40.20), Emma Johnson (5:55.51), and Anna Johnson (6:13.92) rounded out Raiders in the event.Â
>> Emma Carr led WSU in the 400-meter dash by placing 13th with a personal-record time of 1:05.37. Kira Ball was 18th overall at 1:15.51. The two runners also took part in the 200-meter dash, finishing with times of 29.40 and 32.01.Â
>> Ruhlen tabbed fifth out of eight competitors in the 500-meter run, crossing the finish line at 1:21.80.
>> Melissa Siler and Tatiana Brown ran in 60-meter dash prelims, finishing at 11.27 and 11.48. Siler went on to toss 9.37 meters in the shot put and cleared 1.51 meters in the high jump. Brown reached 7.86 meters in the shot put and 1.46 meters in the high jump.Â
>> Amelia Harlow cleared 1.56 meters in the high jump, good for eighth out of 17th competitors and ninth in the Raider top-10 list. Cierra Lively had a best clearance of 1.51 meters in the event, finishing 10th overall.
RUNNER OF THE WEEK
After setting a school record and adding a first-place finish at the Steemer Showcase, Nolan captured Horizon League Runner of the Week for the second time in her career as a Raider. She ran a winning time of 2:57.50 in the 1,000-meter run, becoming the first Raider in school history to break three minutes in the events. The Whitehouse, Ohio native placed second in the mile at 4:55.29, surpassing her previous record mark of 4:58.49 set last season. Nolan last earned the distinction in March 2021 after turning in three top-five finishes at the Blizzard Buster.
