Track & Field set for Marshall Invitational

DAYTON — The Wright State men's and women's track and field program will compete at the Marshall Invitational from February 10-11 inside the Chris Cline Athletic Complex.Â
Friday's field events will commence at 6:30 p.m. with the high jump, followed by running events at 7:45 p.m. The second and final day of competition will start at 10:30 a.m. with the women's long jump.Â

LAST TIME OUT
Wright State competed at the PNC Bank Bellarmine Classic last Friday. The women's program finished 14th out of 16 teams, while the men's team brought a small contingent of runners to the indoor meet.Â
>> On the women's side, Cierra Lively continued her impressive indoor season in the high jump, as she was runner-up with a clearance of 1.65 meters. Amelia Harlow was 19th overall at 1.40 meters.Â
>> Alicia Neumeier collected Wright State's second top-10 finish of the meet by earning eighth out of 55 competitors in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:16.20, just two seconds shy of her personal best in the event. Alycea Ruhlen and Mia Wyngarden crossed the finish line at 2:31.75 and 2:38.39, respectively.Â
>> Emma Shigley paced five Raiders in the mile run with a 19th-place finish at 5:11.09. Kaitlyn Miller (25th, 5:14.58), Emma Johnson (37th, 5:24.69), Anna Johnson (47th, 5:39.97), and Brooklyn Salyers (57th, 6:09.93) followed Shigley in the event.Â
>> Kylee Thomas placed 31st in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.62 seconds, followed by Callista Hess in 43rd (11.08).Â
>> Emma Carr was 38th overall in the 400-meter dash at 1:09.48, while Briana Morrisette took 42nd in the 60-meter dash in 8.52 seconds.Â
>> Eight Raider men took part in the mile run, led by Alex McCarty in 14th out of 45 competitors with a time of 4:21.64. He was followed by Tayton Hess (23rd, 4:27.26), Ethan Neblock (29th, 4:34.38), Max Pettit (34th, 4:39.96), Alan Fullenkamp (35th, 4:41.31), Nathan Childs (42nd, 5:05.76), Jacob Wellman (44th, 5:22.69), and Jacob Poling (45th, 5:22.80).Â
>> Anthony Jiovani cleared 3.65 meters in the pole vault, good for ninth overall.Â
>> Mohamed Bilal led the Raider men in the 400-meter dash, as he took 29th overall with a time of 53.81. Blake Martin was 35th in the event at 56.67.Â
>> Michael Cole and John Steimle represented WSU in the 800-meter run, finishing with times of 2:03.25 and 2:09.99.Â

The Raider men are in their inaugural season of competition, as Wright State announced the addition of men's indoor track & field and outdoor track & field in April 2022. The Raiders previously had student-athletes competing unattached in various indoor and outdoor meets over the years.

The Raiders will compete at the Wittenberg Invitational on February 18, followed by the Horizon League Indoor Championship from February 25-26.
