GREEN BAY — Emma Johnson earned second team All-Horizon League honors with her 12th-place finish in the women's 6K championship as the Wright State men's cross country team turned in an eighth-place overall finish and the Raider women were 11th at the 2024 Horizon League Championships on Saturday the Shorewood Cross Country Course in Green Bay.
Johnson turned in a time of 22:07.5 on the way to her 12th-place finish, just a minute off the top times and within five seconds of a top 10 finish.
Patrick Statzer led the Raiders in the men's 8K race, finishing 27th with a time of 25:43.6.
In the women's race,
Reece Barnitz was the second Raider to cross the finish line, turning in a 23:45.5 time to finish 49th, followed by
Elle Lambert (54th) with a 23:53.0 mark.
Shelby Hept (67th) was the fourth Wright State runner to finish, coming in at 23:59.4, while
Anna Johnson (82nd) had a 24.21.7 time to round out the top-five individuals for the Raider women.
On the men's side,
Blake Rodgers was the second Raider to finish, notching a 25:59.8 mark in 40th, followed by
Andrew Bugner (42nd) with a 26:07.1 mark.
Evan McPherson (44th) had a 26:07.8 time and
Ethan Neblock (49th) had a 26:17.1 mark to complete the top-five for Wright State.
The Raiders now turn their attention to the Great Lakes Regional Championship on Friday, November 15, in Norton, Ohio, at the Silver Creek Metro Park. The top two teams from each regional will automatically advance to the 2024 NCAA Cross Country Championships.
