Track & Field begins calendar year with weekend action

DAYTON – The Wright State track and field program restarts its indoor season this weekend as the Raiders begin their January schedule with the Mastodon Invitational at Purdue Fort Wayne. This weekend's action kicks off a stretch that will see the Raiders competing in each of the next four weekends.

Action gets underway on Friday at 2p.m. with the Pentathlon and Heptathlon events before continuing on Saturday at 11 a.m. with field events and later running events in the afternoon.

Over 50 Wright State athletes will be competing in the meet. The men's side will be competing in the high jump, pole vault, mile and more, while the women will be competing in the high jump, relays, pentathlon and more.

Wright State competed at the Tiger Opener back on December 7 to get the indoor season underway, turning in 16 Top 10 program performances as 19 different Raiders recorded new personal best times.

Following action at the Mastodon Invitational, the Raiders will be back in action on January 24 at the Bellarmine Classic in Louisville.
