Raiders right back on the road for weekend at RMU

DAYTON — The Wright State volleyball team returns to the road this weekend for weekend action against Robert Morris in metro Pittsburgh. Friday night's match is set for a 6 p.m. start before a 2 p.m. first serve on Saturday afternoon. Both matches are expected to be streamed on ESPN+.

LAST TIME OUT
Wright State fell at home to Northern Kentucky in Tuesday midweek action. Katie Sowko notched another double-double as she paced Wright State with 11 kills and 10 digs, while Reilly Zegunis also had double digit kills with 10 as she added four blocks for the Raiders. Elena Dubuc and Ella Seeger both added seven kills and Taylor Bransfield chipped in five kills. Lauren Yacobucci passed out 28 of the 39 Wright State assists, while Taygan Corstange finished with a match-high 23 kills.

LIFE ON THE ROAD
This weekend's two contests are part of a stretch that sees Wright State playing six of its seven matches on the road. After trekking to Green Bay and grabbing two wins, the Raiders also travel to Purdue Fort Wayne next weekend before closing the regular season at home against Oakland.

HORIZON LEAGUE CHECK IN
With one month left in the regular season, Wright State is currently 9-3 in HL action and sits second in the Horizon League standings, two games back of HL leader Northern Kentucky (11-1) with IU Indy at 8-4 and one game back of the Raiders in third. Wright State won both matches this season against IU Indy and would own the tiebreaker at the end of the season. Behind the Raiders and IU Indy, Youngstown State and Green Bay are both 7-5 in a tie for fourth entering the weekend.

KNOW THE FOE
- Robert Morris is currently 7-16 overall with a 3-9 mark in the Horizon League, having dropped nine of the last 10 matches.
- Robert Morris has spread out its wins, grabbing three victories at home (3-7) and three on the road (3-6), while also going 1-3 in neutral matches. 

KATIE KATIE
Katie Sowko has 11 double-doubles in 21 matches to date this season, including turning in 19 kills and 17 digs against Youngstown State on Oct. 11 and adding a 19 kill, 18 dig effort against Ohio State on Sept. 13. Sowko had a career-high 22 kills as part of a double-double against Loyola Chicago (Aug. 30).

LAUREN'S WORLD
Lauren Yacobucci is currently averaging 9.89 assists/set through 23 matches with 25-plus assists in every match to date, with a season high mark of 57 in the win over Cal, as well as a 55 assist effort in the win over Ohio State and 52 helpers against Youngstown State on Oct. 11. Yacobucci has nine double-doubles and counting in 2025.
