Raiders back on the road for Saturday matchup at Marshall

DAYTON - The Wright State men's basketball team hits the road again this weekend for a Saturday afternoon tipoff at Marshall. Tip is set for 4 p.m., and fans can follow the action several ways - watching on ESPN+, via live stats or by tuning in to the Wright State Radio Network - 101.5 FM 'The Fridge' and WING 1410 AM. Chris Collins and Jim Brown will have all the play-by-play on the radio feed.
Fans can tune into 101.5 FM 'The Fridge' or WING 1410 AM live over the air in the Dayton metro area, as well stream the station live nationwide through a variety of free streaming apps. Wright State saw four players finish with double figure scoring nights, led by a career-high 23 points from freshman Michael Cooper, as the Raiders cruised to an 86-58 Sunday victory over Green Bay in Horizon League action inside the Nutter Center. Cooper scored 15 of his new best 23 points in the second half as he finished the night 7-of-13 overall with a trio of three-pointers, filling his stat line with four rebounds, four assists, two steals and a block in just 25 minutes of action. Michael Imariagbe notched another double-digit scoring night of his own, shooting a perfect 7-of-7 from the floor on the way to 14 points, while Logan Woods had 13 points and Dominic Pangonis added 10 points and a game-high seven rebounds.
MAJOR ASSIST
Wright State has had 10-plus assists in seven of 10 contests to start the year after the Raiders had 10-plus helpers in 30 of 33 games last season.
HERD THAT
Wright State and Marshall meet for just the sixth time in program history on Saturday after last season's 88-79 Raider win in Dayton. The teams previously played a home-and-home series in the 2006-07 and 2007-08 seasons and more recently during the 2020-21 and 2021-22 campaigns. Solomon Callaghan tallied nine points and three rebounds in 27 minutes of action in last year's win, with Logan Woods adding seven points and Michael Imariagbe chipping in four rebounds and a pair of points via the free throw stripe.
MARSHALL MATTERS
- Marshall enters Saturday with a 6-4 overall record and coming off a 77-61 home win over Western Kentucky on Wednesday.
- Marshall has opened the season with a 4-1 mark at home, tallying wins over Elon, Arkansas-Pine Bluff, Mercyhurst and Western Kentucky, with the lone blemish a 90-67 defeat to Lipscomb back on Nov. 26.
COOP'S COURT
Michael Cooper has opened his collegiate career with double-digits scoring in eight of his first 10 games, leading Wright State with his 14.6 points per game mark. Cooper tallied a career-best 23 points on Dec. 7 against Green Bay and also has a pair of 19-point performances against Kent State and Stetson. His five three-pointers on Nov. 25 at Stetson were a new high in his young career.
COOP EARNS ANOTHER HL FRESHMAN HONOR
Michael Cooper was named the Horizon League Freshman of the Week for the second time this season on Dec. 8. Cooper tallied a career-high 23 points in the Dec. 7 game against Green Bay and added eight points at Youngstown State on Dec. 3, finishing the opening two Horizon League contests of his career averaging 15.5 points points for the week.
TJ TURNS TO STEALING
Despite missing the Ohio Wesleyan game on Nov. 20, TJ Burch's 29 steals are the 9th-most nationally through games on December 11, with his 3.22 steals/game average No. 6 nationally. Burch has multiple steals in eight of nine games to date, including back-to-back five steal contests against Radford and Kent State at the Greenbrier Tip-Off and another five steal effort on Dec. 7 against Green Bay.
