Raiders roll behind Cooper’s career-high 23 points

DAYTON – The Wright State men's basketball team saw four players finish with double figure scoring nights, led by a career-high 23 points from freshman Michael Cooper, as the Raiders cruised to an 86-58 victory over Green Bay in Horizon League action inside the Nutter Center.

Wright State (5-5, 1-1 Horizon) now steps out of HL play until the end of the month and finishes off its non-conference slate, beginning with a trip to take on Marshall next Saturday in a 4 p.m. tipoff. Fans can follow the action several ways – on ESPN+, via live stats or by tuning in to the Wright State Radio Network – 101.5 FM 'The Fridge' and WING 1410 AM. Chris Collins and Jim Brown will have all the play-by-play action on the radio feed.

On Sunday, the Raiders were tied at 28 with Green Bay (4-7, 0-2 Horizon) with four minutes to play in the opening half before Wright State closed on a 12-6 run to take a 40-34 advantage into the locker room. The Raiders then tallied the first nine points of the second half and never looked back.

Cooper scored 15 of his new best 23 points in the second half as he finished the night 7-of-13 overall with a trio of three-pointers, filling his stat line with four rebounds, four assists, two steals and a block in just 25 minutes of action. Michael Imariagbe notched another double-digit scoring night of his own, shooting a perfect 7-of-7 from the floor on the way to 14 points, while Logan Woods had 13 points and Dominic Pangonis added 10 points and a game-high seven rebounds.

TJ Burch collected five of Wright State's 14 steals as the Raiders forced Green Bay into 18 turnovers that resulted in 15 points.

Wright State finished the win shooting 52 percent overall while hitting six threes (6-27, 22 percent) and going 20-of-25 (80 percent) from the free throw line. Defensively, the Raiders held Green Bay to only three three-pointers, all in the first half, as the visitors finished 3-of-12 from deep and shot 44 percent overall. Wright State won the battle on the boards, 33-29, and saw its 10-player balanced scoring lead to 40 total points from bench as the Raiders also finished with a 48-32 advantage on points inside the paint.

C.J. O'Hara finished with a team-best 19 points for Green Bay, who also got a double-digit scoring effort from Justin Allen, who tallied 12 points in the loss.
