DAYTON — The Wright State volleyball team opens Horizon League action this weekend with a pair of matches at home against IU Indy inside McLin Gymnasium. Friday night's match is set for a 6 p.m. start before a 2 p.m. first serve on Saturday afternoon. Friday night's match will be streamed on ESPN+.

LAST TIME OUT
Wright State finished 1-2 last weekend in the Dayton Flyer Invitational to close non-conference action, with the win coming Saturday night in a sweep over host Dayton. For the weekend, the Raiders were led offensively by
Mya Ayro's 41 kills (4.10 kills/set) while getting 29 kills from
Katie Sowko (2.90 kills/set) and 21 kills from bot
Taylor Bransfield and
Reilly Zegunis (2.10 kills/set).
Lauren Yacobucci passed out a 9.50 assists per set average over the 10 sets and defensively the Raiders averaged 14.10 digs per set, paced by 29 digs from
Taygan Corstange and 28 digs from Sowko.
STARTING THE HORIZON
After winning at IU Indy last September to begin HL play, Wright State has won its Horizon League-opening match in five of the last six seasons, dating back to 2019, with the lone blemish a five-set loss against Northern Kentucky to begin the 2021 HL slate. Over the same six year stretch, the Raiders have a pair of undefeated Horizon League seasons (Spring 2021, Fall 2022).
RECENT HISTORY
Wright State has won 14 straight meetings against IU Indianapolis dating back to the 2018 season, with 10 of those matches resulting in three-set wins. The Raiders tallied a sweep and five-set win last season on the road and lead the all-time series 18-8.
KNOW THE FOE

IU Indy has started the season 6-6 overall in non-conference play, winning two of three matches last weekend, with victories over Eastern Michigan and Butler while falling to Purdue.
