Women's Basketball Heads to Green Bay Thursday

DAYTON- The Wright State women's basketball team (6-15, 2-8 HL) will hit the road for its annual swing through the state of Wisconsin. The Raiders will kick off the road trip at Green Bay on Thursday, January 29th. Tip-off in the Kress Center is slated for 7 p.m. ET

SCOUTING THE PHOENIX
Green Bay enters Thursday night at 17-5 on the season, and a perfect 12-0 in Horizon League play. The Phoenix are currently riding a nine-game win streak dating back to December 30 when they defeated the Raiders inside the Nutter Center.
The Phoenix have been inside the top 10 of the CollegeInsider mid-major Women's Basketball poll all season long. Green Bay is ranked fifth in the most recent poll.
Jenna Guyer leads the Phoenix in scoring, averaging 14.4 points per game, and shoots 46.1% from the floor and 40.0% from behind the arc. Joining Guyer in double digits is Meghan Schultz (12.4 ppg) and Maddy Skorupski (10.6 ppg). Skorupski is coming off a season-high 22 points against Detroit Mercy last Saturday.
HISTORY VS. GREEN BAY
Thursday's contest will mark the 84th all-time meeting between Wright State and Green Bay, a series the Phoenix dominate 76-7. Green Bay has won the last 13 meetings in the series, with Wright State's last win coming on December 30, 2019.
The Raiders fell to the Phoenix 55-89 at the Nutter Center earlier this season. Breezie Williams and Abbie Riddle both finished with double-digit points on December 30. Williams led the Raiders with 20 points on 57% shooting and knocked down three shots from beyond the arc. Riddle finished with a career-high 15 points on 67% shooting. Riddle also set a new career-high with six made field goals and tied a career-high in three pointers made with two.
LAST TIME OUT
The Wright State women's basketball team fell to Robert Morris 53-74 Saturday afternoon in the Nutter Center.
Lauren Scott paced the Raiders offensively Saturday afternoon, turning in a 15-point performance. The senior came up just two points shy of her career high of 17 she matched earlier this season against Evansville. Breezie Williams joined Scott in double figures, scoring 10 points of her own to turn in her third straight 10+ point game. Williams also led the Raiders with six assists and four steals. Grace Okih cleaned up the boards, hauling in six rebounds, followed by Ellie Magestro-Kennedy with five rebounds.
All 10 available Raiders saw the court Saturday afternoon. Freshman Maja Dilen made her first collegiate start, playing 16 minutes, scoring five points, and making four assists. Makenzie Drout played 17 minutes off the bench for the Raiders, matching her career-mark set at Kentucky earlier this season.
The Raiders closed out the first quarter on fire, closing the quarter on a 10-2 run to cut the Robert Morris lead down to one point. Wright State would then start the second quarter with five straight points to take a 22-18 lead with a little over nine minutes remaining in the half.
Robert Morris would respond with a run of their own to break the game wide open. The Colonials finished the first half on a 19-0 run to jump out to a 15-point lead entering the locker room at halftime. Robert Morris would finish their run in the early parts of the second half, scoring the first four points of the second half to complete a 23-point run.
The two squads would exchange buckets in the second half, but Robert Morris would close the game on a 7-0 run to secure their 14th win of the season and seventh win in Horizon League play.
In the box score, the Raiders trailed in rebounds 26-43, points in the paint (18-38), second chance points (7-12), and bench points (8-27), but led in fast break points (9-2).

BREEZIE LIKE A SUNDAY MORNING
Senior guard Breezie Williams has made an immediate impact for the Raiders, averaging 12.4 points, 3.0 assists, and 3.9 rebounds per game in a Raider uniform. The Canton, Ohio, native is shooting 38.5% from the floor and 30.3% from three-point range. The senior is also getting it done on the defensive end of the floor, averaging 2.3 steals per game. Williams currently ranks ninth in the Horizon League in points per game (12.4) and second in steals per game (2.3). On Saturday, January 19, Williams joined the 1,000 career-point club, scoring her 1,00th point on a layup with 42 seconds remaining in the first quarter. The Bryant transfer had a breakout performance on the road at Tennessee State, dropping a new career-high 27 points with three assists, three rebounds, and two blocks. She followed up her career night in Nashville with a 20-point performance against Wilberforce in just 14 minutes of action. Williams also finished one rebound and one steal short of a triple-double at Florida Atlantic, finishing with a career-high nine steals and a season-high nine rebounds. Williams has turned in a team-high five 20-point performances on the season, tying her for third in the Horizon League. Three of which have come within the last month against Green Bay (20), Detroit Mercy (26), and Cleveland State (20).
ELLIE MAGIC
Wright State's Ellie Magestro-Kennedy has turned in double-digit scoring performances in four of her last five games. Against IU Indy (13), Youngstown State (17), Northern Kentucky (10), and highlighted by a career-high 18 at Cleveland State. To go along with the scoring, Magestro-Kennedy has seen her role increase, playing 20+ minutes in five straight games and 30+ in two of her last three games that saw her in the starting lineup.
The redshirt sophomore was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes five years ago. Daily, she is required to check blood glucose (sugar) levels, administer and adjust insulin dosages, and calculate meal carbohydrates (regular and pre- and post-workout/practice/games).
CLAIRE CRASHING THE BOARDS
Claire Henson has been active in the paint for the Raiders, snagging 127 rebounds so far this season. Henson is fifth in the Horizon League with 6.7 rebounds per game.
Henson also has a team high of three double-doubles. The senior has recorded double-doubles against Bellarmine (13 pts. and 12 reb.), Ohio (17 pts. and 15 reb. (career-high)), and Oakland (17 pts. and 10 reb.). Fellow senior Chloe Chard Peloquin recorded the only other double-double for the Raiders in the season opener against Butler (15 pts. and 11 rebs.).
RYLEE FROM RANGE
Redshirt sophomore guard Rylee Sagester is not only one of the best three-point shooters in the Horizon League but is one of the best in the country. The Alexandria, Ohio native is shooting a stellar 37.6% from beyond the arc, which is a team best. Sagester's 38 three-pointers place her tied for fifth in the Horizon League standings. Sagester has made more than one three-pointer in 12 of the Raiders' 21 games, highlighted by a pair of games with five made threes against Wilberforce and Bellarmine.
SIZING UP THE 2025-26 SQUAD
The Raiders return nine players from last season while adding four newcomers (two transfers and two freshmen).
The squad features four seniors, three juniors, four sophomores, and two freshmen. The roster also expands not only across the nation, with four different states represented (Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Wisconsin), but across the globe, with three international student-athletes (England, Nigeria, Sweden).
