Bruskotter's career high leads Raiders to Sunday road win

CLEVELAND – Wright State redshirt-freshman Alex Bruskotter turned in the game of his collegiate career on Sunday afternoon to help lift the Wright State men's basketball team to a 102-90 road victory at Cleveland State in Horizon League action.

Wright State (17-10,12-4 Horizon) now returns home for its final two regular season contests this week, first welcoming IU Indy on Thursday before a nationally televised contest against Robert Morris next Sunday. Fans can follow all of Thursday's action several ways – on ESPN+, via live stats or by tuning in to the Wright State Radio Network – 101.5 FM 'The Fridge' and WING 1410 AM. Chris Collins and Jim Brown will have all the play-by-play action on the television and radio feeds.

Sunday afternoon, the Raiders shot 73 percent over the opening 20 minutes to lead 51-36 at the break thanks in large part to 15 first half points from TJ Burch. Cleveland State (10-17,6-10 Horizon) used a 15-2 run early in the second half to pull the margin to single digits, but Wright State responded with 12 of the next 15 points to push the lead back to double digits for good.

Bruskotter, who entered the game with 39 total points over eight games this season, turned in 25 points to lead four Wright State players in double figures, shooting 6-of-8 from the floor with a trio of three-pointers while going 10-of-14 from the free throw line. Bruskotter added six rebounds, an assist and a steal to his final stat line.

Burch ended the afternoon with 23 points after the 15-point first half, adding eight assists as he shot 9-of-11 from the floor while hitting four triples. Dominic Pangonis tallied 11 of his 18 points in the first half while Michael Imariagbe notched another double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds as he chipped in five assists.

Wright State finished the afternoon shooting 62 percent (34-of-55) after the strong first half with a 71 percent clip (12-of-17) from deep while going 22-of-29 (76 percent) from the free throw line. Cleveland State ended up with a 52 percent overall shooting mark (34-of-66) while hitting 43 percent of its three-pointers (12-of-28). The hosts were 83 percent at the stripe but only shot 12 free throws (10-of-12).

The Raiders outrebounded Cleveland State 36-21, including 27 boards on the defensive glass, while passing out 21 assists and 44 points in the paint.

Chevalier Emery turned in 30 points to lead three Cleveland State players in double figures, while Josiah Harris had 14 points and Dayan Nessah added 11 points for the hosts in the loss.
