Second-straight Imariagbe double-double fuels Homecoming win

DAYTON – Michael Imariagbe notched his second-straight double-double on Saturday night as the Wright State men's basketball team tallied a 73-68 Homecoming victory over Purdue Fort Wayne to remain atop the Horizon League standings.
Wright State (16-9, 11-3 Horizon) resets until next Thursday night when the Raiders remain at home to welcome Detroit Mercy to the Nutter Center. Fans can follow the all the action several ways – on ESPN+, via live stats or by tuning in to the Wright State Radio Network – 101.5 FM 'The Fridge' and WING 1410 AM. Chris Collins and Jim Brown will have all the play-by-play action on the television and radio feeds.
On Saturday night, Wright State used a pair of 11-0 first half scoring runs to take a 43-29 advantage into the halftime break, only to see Purdue Fort Wayne (14-11, 8-6 Horizon) rally in the second half behind a 19-3 scoring run of its own to pull the margin closer. After the visitors took the lead at 53-50 with 11 minutes remaining, the Raiders connected on back-to-back three-pointers from Kellen Pickett and Solomon Callaghan to regain a lead they would never give up again down the stretch.
After Purdue Fort Wayne pulled within one again, Pickett hit two more triples to kickstart an 11-4 run to give the Raiders cushion in the final minutes to close out the win.
Imariagbe scored 13 of his 19 points in the first half, while his 16 rebounds were a Wright State-high over his two seasons as a Raider. Pickett finished with 14 points and four three-pointers after entering Saturday 5-of-25 from deep on the season, as he added four rebounds, two assists and a pair of steals. Michael Cooper notched 13 points off the bench while Solomon Callaghan had 11 points as the final Raider in double figures.
Wright State shot 59 percent in the opening 20 minutes before cooling off in the second half and finishing with a 49 percent shooting mark (26-of-53), while the Raiders hit seven three-pointers (7-23, 30 percent) and went 58 percent at the free throw line (14-of-24). Purdue Fort Wayne finished the night at 47 percent overall shooting (25-of-53) with eight three-pointers (8-23, 35 percent) and was 77 percent at the line, going 10-of-13.
The Raiders won the battle on the glass 39-24 as they grabbed 23 rebounds off the defensive glass alone. They finished with 16 assists on the 26 made baskets.
Corey Hadnot II finished with a game-high 22 points to lead Purdue Fort Wayne, adding five assists and four rebounds, while Mikale Stevenson also had double figures with 17 points in the loss for the visitors.
