DAYTON- The Wright State baseball team picked up a big 8-4 win over Milwaukee in Friday afternoon's series opener. The win moves the Raiders to 1-0 in Horizon League play, their third consecutive season starting conference play with a win.
Â
Wright State (6-12, 1-0 HL) will be back in action tomorrow afternoon for game two of its three-game set with Milwaukee. First pitch at Nischwitz Stadium is slated for 2 p.m.
Â
Cam Allen got the start on the mound for the Raiders, pitching five innings, allowing three runs (two earned) on three hits while striking out five Panthers.
Â
After two scoreless frames, Andrew Duncan opened the scoring on Friday afternoon with a little league home run in the bottom of the third inning. The centerfielder ripped a two-run triple into the gap in left-center that scored Patrick Fultz and Hunter Warren. After an error by the Panther third baseman, Duncan was able to come home and give the Raiders a three-run lead.

Â
The Panthers would come back to tie the game with two runs in the fifth and one more in the sixth to tie the game at four entering the final three innings.
Â
