
Manley delivers as the Raiders defeat Penguins in extra innings Saturday

Wright State (16-15, 10-1HL) will go for the series sweep of Youngstown State tomorrow afternoon. First pitch is slated for 1 p.m.

Patrick Fultz would open the scoring in the top of the second inning, launching his team-high seventh home run over the wall in right. Gus Gregory would double the Raiders' lead with a sacrifice fly in the top of the third inning.

Youngstown State would strike back and take the lead with three runs in the bottom of the third. Alex Jang got the Penguins on the board with a two-run single. Youngstown State would take the lead when James Carlson scored on a groundout to third.

The teams would exchange single tallies in the fourth. Braylen Blomquist would deliver for the Raiders with an RBI single in the top of the inning, and then Ryan Schummer gave the Penguins the lead back with a solo shot in the bottom half of the frame.

Griffen Paige got the start on the mound for the Raiders and turned in his longest outing of the season. Paige went seven innings, allowing four runs on just three hits while striking out a career-best nine Youngstown State batters.

After four scoreless frames, the Raiders would take the lead with two runs in the top of the ninth. Fultz would tie the game when he came in to score on a fielder's choice. Blomquist would give Wright State the lead, bringing Parker Falkenstein on a sacrifice fly to left.

The Penguins would tie the game in the bottom of the ninth with a solo shot off the bat of Nathan Beckley.
Nate Manley, who came in as a defensive replacement in the bottom of the ninth, played hero in extra innings. Manley served a two-run single through the left side to give the Raiders the lead. Hunter Warren would give Wright State a run of insurance with a sacrifice fly to extend the lead to 8-5.

Michael Bilo was the lone man out of the bullpen for the Raiders. The right-hander pitched three innings, allowing just one run on three hits while striking out six Youngstown State batters. Bilo would strike out the side in the bottom of the tenth to slam the door closed and secure a series win for the Raiders
