Biography

2021: Appeared in 14 games with 14 starts… Compiled a 5-4 record in 68.1 innings (4.61 ERA), striking out 92 batters… threw one completed game against Milwaukee (May 7)… Had three five inning appearances, four six inning appearances, and five appearances of three or four innings… recorded season-high 12 strikeouts twice (v. Northern Kentucky, March 5; at Purdue Fort Wayne, April 30).

2020: Appeared in six games, all in relief, during the shortened season… Recorded one win and one save while tallying a team-best 1.26 ERA in 14.1 innings of work… Allowed eight hits and two runs while striking out 15 batters… Tossed 2.0+ innings in five of six appearances, including two three inning outings (Feb. 23, Western Kentucky and March 6, Tennessee)… Earned the win against Tennessee on Match 6 after a season-high five strikeouts… Save came at Western Kentucky, where he had three strikeouts.

2019: Appeared in 12 games, all in relief… Recorded one win and three saves in 11.0 innings of work… Team-best 0.82 ERA… Allowed eight nits and one run while striking out 14 batters… Struck out a season-high three batters against Xavier on April 10 and had three two-strikeout games… Picked up saves against Bowling Green, Dayton and UIC.

2018: Appeared in 10 games, all in relief… Tossed 11.0 innings, striking out 15 batters… Struck out a season-high three batters on Feb. 27 against Sam Houston State… Had four two strikeout games.

Notes:  Attended Colerain High School...coached by Justin Yeary...pitched 36 innings with 65 strikeouts and a 2.40 ERA as a senior...136 career strikeouts...second-team All League as a senior...son of Terri and Gary Schrand.
