Box Score The Wright State volleyball team fell in its first Horizon League action of the year, losing at Cleveland State Tuesday night at the Woodling Gymnasium 16-25, 25-19, 25-14, 25-20.
Senior Lexi Leonhard led the Raiders with 11 kills while junior Michelle Hammond ended the night with 20 assists and three service aces.
The Raiders won the first set 25-16 behind strong hitting as WSU posted a .414 kill percentage with 13 kills and only one error. From there, however, Wright State hit just .057 the remainder of the match to finish at .133 overall while the Vikings hit .250 the final three sets and were at .252 altogether.
Wright State is now 7-3, 0-1 while the Vikings climb to 10-2, 1-0. WSU will next play in the West Virginia Invitational this weekend, taking on WVU Friday night at 7 pm before playing Saturday against Duquesne at 11:30 am and George Mason at 5 pm.
