Volleyball Falls at Butler

The Wright State volleyball team could not overcome a .322 hitting performance by Butler as the Raiders fell to the Bulldogs 25-17, 25-23, 25-17 in Horizon League action Saturday afternoon at Hinkle Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.

WSU, now 8-7, 0-3 in Horizon League play, was led by junior Lexi Leonhard and Becca Awaa each finished the match with nine kills. Senior Michelle Hammond added 29 assists.

Butler, who was led by Porshia Allen's 18 kills, improves to 12-7, 3-0 in the League.

The Raiders begin a three-match homestand Tuesday with a nonleague match against IPFW starting at 7:00. Wright State will also host Loyola Friday night before UIC comes to town Saturday afternoon. After being on the road for 12 of its first 15 matches, the three home matches start a stretch where WSU will host 10 of its next 11 over the next month.
