Box Score The Wright State volleyball team rallied to take the first set, only to see Cleveland State take control over the final three sets as the Vikings defeated the Raiders in Horizon League action Friday night at the C.J. McLin Gymnasium.  CSU won the match 26-28, 25-19, 25-15, 25-18.
WSU came out on fire, scoring the first seven points of the contest, capped off by a pair of Miranda Puthoff service aces, but back came the Vikings with seven straight of their own to tie the score.  The two teams were later tied five more times in the set, including at 25-all following a Stephanie Ruffing kill.
Cleveland State went up 26-25 on a Kerry Winchester kill before the Raiders rattled off three consecutive points to take the set, taking advantage of a ball handling error and attack error by the Vikings with Ashley Langjahr coming up with the kill on set point.
CSU broke an 8-8 tie in the second set with three straight points and held off WSU the rest of the way to even the match at a set and pulled away from a 6-6 deadlock in the third set and a 7-7 tie in the fourth.
The Vikings finished with a 57-43 kill advantage and outhit the Raiders .267-.140.
Langjahr hit .320 for the match with 12 kills to pace WSU while Ruffing added 11 kills and Heidi Splinter had eight kills and 16 digs.  Puthoff recorded 34 assists and Katie Glassmeyer had 13 digs.
Wright State (6-14, 0-3 Horizon) hosts Youngstown State Saturday at 4:00.
