Box Score Behind six scoreless innings from Luke Mamer and a 16-hit attack, the Wright State baseball team completed a three-game series sweep over Oakland Sunday with an 11-4 decision at Nischwitz Stadium.
A RBI single from Gabe Snyder and a Michael Timm sacrifice fly gave WSU a 2-0 lead in the first and the margin grew to 4-0 in the third as Ryan Fucci and Sean Murphy had run-scoring hits.
The Raiders tacked on two runs in the fourth and four more in the fifth before rounding out its scoring with a run in the eighth. Oakland scored all four of their runs in the ninth.
Mamer (1-0) threw six shutout innings to earn the win, scattering four hits and walking none while striking out two. Anderson Hasting and Darion Nunn each pitched a scoreless inning.
Offensively, Andrew McCafferty had three hits and two RBI while Mitch Roman, Murphy, Jason DeFevers and John Brodner each had two hits. Roman scored three times and Snyder had two RBI.
Wright State (11-6, 3-0 Horizon) continues the homestand on Wednesday with a 6:30 contest against Northern Kentucky.
