Jesse Scholtens (5-3) pitched seven strong innings for the win, scattering nine hits in allowing just one earned run while striking out five.
Offensively, Timm collected four hits, scored three times and drove in two while Mitch Roman had four hits and two RBI, Matt Morrow three hits and Murphy, John Brodner and Gabe Snyder two hits and two RBI each.
Wright State (25-10, 11-4 Horizon) plays game two of the series against Oakland at 1:00 on Saturday.
