Men Hold Off Miami in Home Opener

The Wright State men's basketball team saw a 21-point halftime advantage slip away in the second half, only to regain the lead for good in the final minute for an 89-87 victory over the Miami RedHawks in the home opener Tuesday night at the Wright State Nutter Center.

Inside the Boxscore

*Mark Alstork came two assists from just the third triple double in WSU history as he finished with 29 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists.  He made 15 free throws, four short of WSU's record set by Julius Mays.

*Steven Davis followed his career-high 26 points at Southern Illinois with 16 points and seven rebounds.

*Justin Mitchell continued to score and rebounds with 14 points and seven boards.

*Grants Benzinger scored his jersey number--13 points.

*It was the opening game for season 27 at Nutter Center.

*WSU hit nine threes in the first half as they shot 56.3% from there.

Wright State (2-0) continues the six-game homestand on Saturday, November 19, as the Raiders host Toledo at 7:00.
