
Raiders look to continue winning streak this weekend in New York

The Wright State women's basketball team travels to Riverdale, NY this weekend to play in the Manhattan Tournament. Wright State will play Drexel on Saturday at 3:30pm and Manhattan on Sunday at 2:00pm.
Wright State
The Raiders, 5-3, will be riding a four game win streak when they travel to New York this weekend. Wright State is coming off a 61-55 win over Kent State in the Nutter Center. The Raiders relied heavily on the play from their bench, which was able to contribute 31 points on the night. Freshman Angel Baker was the star of the night with her 24 point performance and a crucial block on a three-point attempt late in the game against the Flashes.
On offense the Raiders have three players averaging in the double-digits; Taylor Mackenzie with 12.3, Angel Baker with 11.3, and Michal Miller with 10.3 are leading the way on offense. After her five point performance against Kent State, Taylor Mackenzie is now just 15 points away from joining Wright State's 1000 Point Club. Symone Simmons leads the team in rebounds where she pulls in 7.9 per contest and Tyler Frierson is also bringing in an additional 6.9. Senior Emily Vogelpohl is also making strong contributions on defense where she averages 6.5 rebounds per game and is also credited with 14 steals.
Drexel
After losing their first game of the season to Quinnipiac 52-56, the Dragons have since reeled of five straight wins and sit at 5-1 on the season. The Dragons are led by long-time coach Denise Dillon, entering her 16th season the Dillon has only had one season with a losing record and can also boast a WNIT Championship. Dillon has the Dragon beating their opponents by an average scoring margin of 13 points in their six contests.
On the season, junior Bailey Greenberg is leading the Dragons on offense. Greenberg is averaging 19 points per game and is shooting .488 from the field. On defense, Greenberg is also team-leader in rebounds where she is hauling in 7.5 per contest.
Manhattan
The Jaspers, 2-5, are set to play hosts this weekend at Draddy Gymnasium. After a five game slide, the Jasper got back on their feet with a 60-49 win over Lafayette. A stifling defense in the first half which only allowed 24 points led Manhattan to their second win on the season.
The Jaspers are led by sophomore center Courtney Warley who is averaging 8.4 points per game and also is leading the team in rebounds with 8.1 per game. Graduate transfer from USC, Candela Abejon is proving to be electric from range where she is 11-26, a .423 average.
