@WSUWBasketball Continues Horizon League Unbeaten Streak

The Raiders move to 12-4 overall and still hold a perfect 4-0 record in the Conference after their 61-57 win against the Milwaukee Panthers on Saturday afternoon. Mackenzie Taylor led all players with 14 points. Angel Baker added 13 Raiders and Michal Miller posted an additional 10 for the Raiders.
 
1st Quarter
Neither team found the basket for the first two minutes but the Raiders struck first with a three-pointer from the corner by Mackenzie Taylor. On minute later Symone Simmons collected her own rebound and sank her put back floater. Simmons scored on the next Raider possession to extend the lead to 7-2. The score would stand until the media timeout with 4:54 remaining in the first quarter. The next score would come off of an Angel Baker steal in the lane and finish with a fast transition to the other end where Baker would finish the play. With 16 seconds left in the quarter Imani Partlow would collect the pass from Michal Miller and sink her floater while also drawing the foul. The Panthers would also draw a foul and converting their chances would result in a tied score at the end of the quarter, 11-11.
 
2nd Quarter
With the first Raider possession Imani Partlow should hit her deep jumper and on the other end Symone Simmons pickpocketed a Panther's player underneath the basket. The steal would lead to a score on the other when Mackenzie Taylor hit her second three of the afternoon. The 47 second sequence of Raider plays would trigger a Milwaukee timeout with 8:21 remaining in the half. Two fouls on the Raiders would give the Panthers a chance and their conversions would pull the score back within one. With 4:54 remaining the quarter Angel Baker came up with a dominating block on a potential three-pointer from the Panthers' most prolific shooter from deep. Unable to take advantage of the play, the Raiders would find themselves behind 21-20 on the next Panther possession. The next Raider score would come from Teneshia Dixon on an uncontested layup that started with her rebound on the defensive end. One possession later Angel Baker would hit a three-pointer to give the Raiders the lead again, 25-23. A reach in foul would lead to Anisja Harris' first points of the game as she sank both of her shots from the line. 3rd Quarter
The first points of the half would come at the 7:58 mark when Michal Miller hit a turnaround jumper. The Raiders would enter the media timeout at 4:57 with a one point lead, 34-33. Out of the timeout, Angel Baker would sink a shot from three off of a pass from Emily Vogelpohl. On the next Panther possession Vogelpohl would step in front of an errant pass and held down the end for an uncontested layup. On the very next possession Imani Partlow would connect from deep to extend Wright State's lead to eight. The seven point Raider run would prompt a timeout from the Panther bench with 2:36 remaining in the quarter. Mistakes from the Raiders allowed the Panthers to string together five points. With under a minute left in the quarter Mackenzie Taylor would sink a layup. The Raiders would end the quarter leading 45-38. A Wright State foul on a three point shot with 0.7 seconds left meant that Milwaukee had the chance for the win. After sinking the first attempt, the Panthers missed the last two and the rebound was collected by Emily Vogelpohl to end the game with a Raider win.
 
4th Quarter
A Panther foul meant that Mackenzie Taylor started off scoring for the Raiders in the quarter with free throws, hitting one of two. With just under a minute gone Michal Miller found the net with a deep jumper to add two for the Raiders. After a Panther score Mackenzie Taylor hit another three-point attempt from the top of the arc. A Michal Miller jumper would extend Wright State's lead to ten points. The Panthers began to chip away at the Raiders' lead and a string of scoring let them pull within three of the home team. An impressive passing performance led to the next Raider score as Michal Miller hit a short jumper just outside the lane. At the 1:04 mark Milwaukee hit a layup to pull within one point. With 24 seconds on the clock the Panthers would call a timeout and would have a chance to score. The attempt at the shot fell short and Emily Vogelpohl would haul in the rebound. With 11.7 seconds remaining a Panther foul sent Mackenzie Taylor to the line and Taylor would sink both of her free throws to extend the Raider's lead to three. With 6.2 seconds remaining the Panthers would commit a foul under the basket and give Tyler Frierson the chance to add two more for the Raiders. Frierson would hit both of her free throws making the score 61-56 in favor of the home team.
