Raiders close homestand Wednesday before long road trip

The Wright State volleyball team looks to extend its nation-leading 15-game winning streak on Wednesday night as the Raiders host Cleveland State at 6 p.m. on Wednesday night to close out a five-game homestand. Wright State then hits the road for its next five matches, beginning on Friday night at UIC.

The Raiders are 15-1 overall and off to a 4-0 start in Horizon League action. After dropping the season opener on August 30 at Bowling Green, Wright State has gone on the 15-game winning streak over a span of days that will hit 40 days on Wednesday night.

The Raiders lead the HL in overall stats for digs and blocks. Wright State is averaging 2.61 blocks per set and 19.53 digs per set to date this season. The team is second behind Milwaukee for hitting percentage, averaging a .229 hitting percentage. Wright State is first in the league in holding their opponents to the lowest hitting percentage of .134.

The Raiders are one of 10 teams nationally with one loss on the season, a list that also includes fellow Horizon League member Milwaukee (17-1 overall), while 13-0 Baylor is the last undefeated team in the country entering play this weekend. Wright State was ranked No. 47 in the country in the season's first NCAA RPI release on Monday.
