Cincinnati, Ohio – The Wright State baseball team was back in action Tuesday afternoon in the first game of the Joe Nuxhall Classic. The Raiders took on the Miami RedHawks, and their comeback effort fell just short, losing 6-5 to MU. The Raiders are now 21-11 overall while the RedHawks go to 25-6.

SCORING
2^nd Inning – As the designated home team in Tuesday's game, the Raiders came to bat in the second inning with a hole to climb out of. After putting up two runs in the first inning, the RedHawks picked up right where they left off in the second, plating three more runs to put themselves up 5-0. The Raiders answered by scoring a run on a wild pitch in the bottom half of the inning cutting the deficit to four.

5^th Inning – Miami added another run to their advantage in the third inning, but Wright State wasn't going down without a fight. Seth Gray slugged his fourth home run of the season, a two-run blast to right field to draw the Raiders within three. After Damon Dues scored on a RedHawks throwing error, Wright State was back within two runs at 6-4.

6^th Inning – The RedHawks pushed across one more in the top of the 6^th, but the Raiders would answer with two more RBI singles (Zach Weatherford and Alex Alders) to pull themselves within one at 7-6. This would be the final score, however, as the Raiders comeback would fall just short.

The Raiders will return to action in the Joe Nuxhall Classic tomorrow against Xavier at 3 pm. Sam Wirsing is scheduled to take the ball in tomorrow's match-up. The Musketeers are 12-20 after falling to host Cincinnati 2-1 Tuesday afternoon. This will be the third meeting between the two schools this year as Xavier won at WSU 9-8 in 10 innings but the Raiders won 10-0 at Xavier.
