LAST TIME OUT
Wright State won its first weekend series of the season as the Raiders took the Friday and Sunday matchups  and won two of three at No. 11 Tennessee. The losses were the first of the season for the Volunteers, who opened the year 13-0 before the weekend. Alex Alders' two-out, go-ahead RBI single in the top of the ninth inning on Friday lifted Wright State to the series opening win before using a four-run sixth inning to earn a 6-3 Sunday afternoon, keyed by Tyler Black's two-run homer to right field and Jay Luikart's two-RBI single later in the frame.
WE MEET AGAIN
Wright State and Miami (OH) are meeting for the second-consecutive Tuesday after the Raiders won 8-6 on the road in 14 innings last Tuesday. Tristan Haught, slated to start this week's matchup, actually earned the save after pitching the final frame as the ninth pitcher of the night for Wright State. Alders led the Wright State offense with a 3-for-6 game at the plate and the bases loaded walk in the 14th, his second RBI of the night, while he also had a double and a triple earlier in the afternoon. Julian Greenwood (two RBI) and Konner Piotto each had two hits, as did Quincy Hamilton, who had a two-run homer back in the fourth to help power the early Raider lead.
PLAYING TOUGH
Ten of Wright State's 14 games this season have been against nationally ranked opponents – then-No. 6 Mississippi State in a three-game series to open the season, then-No. 1 Louisville in midweek action and then-No. 20 Auburn in a weekend series. The Raiders will add three more games against ranked opponents when they take on Tennessee this weekend.
HOME SWEET HOME
Wright State returns home to Nischwitz Stadium for its next nine contests after opening the 2020 season with its first 14 games on the road. The Raiders will host Miami (OH), Ohio State and Indiana State in midweek action and also open Horizon League play with  series against Milwaukee and Oakland. Wright State was 23-5 at home last season.
