LAST TIME OUT
Wright State went on the road three weeks ago and dropped three of four games to Youngstown State despite outscoring the Penguins 40-35. The Raiders won the Saturday meeting 20-8, the most runs they have scored since a 25-0 victory over Wilmington College in March 2013, while the Wright State record for runs in a game is 32 – set against Youngstown State on April 5, 2012. Wright State connected on six home runs for the second straight series, including a pair from Alex Alders, and have hit at least six homers in all four of its Horizon League series to date.Â
RPI SEE YOU
This weekend's matchup will be between two teams in the top-60 RPI, as Wright State is currently slotted at No. 28 and the Eagles check in at 55th. Of the 27 teams ahead of the Raiders, just seven are from non-Power 5 institutions.
CHECKING THE LATEST TRENDS
Quincy Hamilton has reached base in 19 straight games entering the weekend series, while Sammy Sass has the longest active hitting streak at 13 games. Sass is one of five Raiders to have had a streak of at least six games with a hit, while his hitting streak has him with the second longest reached base streak on the roster behind Hamilton. Damon Dues' eight multi hit games paces the Raider offense, while Tyler Black has seven such games (including a team-leading five three-hit games). Black has driven in multiple RBI in eight contests, followed by seven multi-RBI games from Hamilton and Zane Harris.
CONSISTENT AT THE TOP
Alex Sogard's lineup has started the same way for all 21 games this season entering this weekend, but after that it's anyone's guess. Damon Dues, Quincy Hamilton and Tyler Black have been written into the top three spots in the oder for each of the 21 contests, but Zane Harris (13 times in the four spot) and Sammy Sass (10 times as the No. 5 hitter) are the only other two Raiders with double-digit starts in the same lineup position this season.
